When we purchased our house, we had no idea that would join a community at the same time. In November, we dedicated a legacy walk to those neighbors that have contributed to the betterment of our community.  A Floral Park Walk of Fame right in the heart of our community garden.  Some are still with us, others are gone, both have transformed our neighborhood into a tight knit community.  We honored the original founders, those that continue to contribute, and have left room for the future contributors.  So here’s a little cheers to the past, the present, and the future!

Blackberry Lemon Sparkler

• 1 1/2 oz gin
• 1/2 oz simple syrup
• 1/2 oz blackberry/lemon puree (below)
• Champagne or prosecco

Mix together ice, gin, simple syrup, and puree. Stir until combined.  Strain into a champagne glass, and top with champagne.

Blackberry/Lemon Puree

• 8 oz blackberries
• Juice of two lemons

In a blender, puree berries and lemon juice until smooth.  Pass through a sieve to remove the seeds.
