All Hallows Eve

October 31 is madness at our place.  The night of October 31, thousands of devils, demons, monsters and yes, even princesses, float up our driveway in search of treats, not tricks.  One must prepare for the onslaught, and that means help!  I always like to have a treat for the adults that come by to help.  So this year, that was a sweet & tart cocktail.  Shaken, not stirred, everyone will find this spooktacular.

Blackberry Smash

  • img_92521 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1/2 oz blackberry/lime puree (see below)
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • Blackberries for garnish

In a cocktail shaker with ice, add vodka, puree, and simple syrup.  Shake until cold, and serve in a martini glass.  Garnish with fresh blackberries.

Blackberry/Lime Puree

  • 1 pint blackberries
  • 3 limes, juiced

In a blender, combine blackberries & juice of the limes, and blend until smooth.  Strain through a sieve to remove the seeds.
