Not your average taco night

Alex and I spent the first year and a half enjoying other neighbor’s backyards. I felt like it was our turn to host. The problem was that we didn’t have enough seating for all our new friends. Summer Salad

Whenever we visit our friends for dinner, we offer to bring a dish. 90% Of the time, they ask me to bring salad. They love my salads. Ironically, I don’t really even eat salad at home. But, because I belong to a CSA, I always have fresh organic veggies in my fridge that need to be used. So in the salad they go… whatever is in season! Continue reading

Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’…

IMG_2524One of the treats we look forward to each summer are homemade flour tortillas from Alex’s mom. She grew up making these by the dozen each morning, and used to sell them to neighbors to make extra money, so she spins out about a dozen perfect little circles in five minutes. The CSA Challenge

IMG_2606Several years ago, I joined a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).  A CSA delivers fresh, organic, produce to your door at a frequency of your choosing.  I always get interesting and unexpected things and this has taught me to get creative with my food.  It’s also why I keep my pantry well stocked because it allows me to use all this great produce.

Because the produce is local, and just picked, they last forever.  Herein lies my issue.  Continue reading
