Every once in a while I run across something that is the perfect version of itself.  These are my favorite things, and I’d like to share them with you.  This week’s edition:  OLIVE OIL & VINEGAR.

I have a HUGE collection of olive oil, and every time I travel someplace new, I pick up the local specialty. I do have a few favorites, however, and every time I travel to these destinations, I pick up a supply to last until I can return again.  I just haven’t found anything better (and I’ve tried a lot).

• Temecula Olive Oil Company: Fresh Basil Oil. It’s the best basil oil I’ve found.  The name says it all- it’s just like sprinkling fresh basil over your salad.  It’s perfect over fresh summer tomatoes.
• Temecula Olive Oil Company: Fresh Pomegranate California Basalmico Bianco. Perfectly tart, and sweet.  It makes amazing salad dressings.
• St. Helena Olive Oil Company: Rosemary Extra Virgin Olive Oil: Again, it’s the best rosemary oil I’ve found. It tastes like your fingers smell after running through a rosemary field.  Perfect over steaks, or roasted tomatoes, or to dip bread in.
