Occasionally, I NEED chocolate. Therefore, I keep chocolate chips in the Well Stocked Pantry for just those moments. The other night, the need arose and chocolate was there. So was a day old baguette, some frozen nuts, marshmallows, an egg, and cream. Voila, gimme s’more bread pudding, please!. Craving satisfied.
S’more Bread Pudding
- ¼ day old baguette, chopped into ½ inch cubes
- 1 egg
- ¼ c cream (heavy cream or half & half will do)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- ¼ c chocolate chips
- 2 Tbsp chopped nuts, such as pecans or walnuts
- 3 marshmallows, torn in half
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine egg, cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. Stir to combine. Then add bread and press the bread to absorb the liquid. Add in chocolate and nuts and stir. Pour into a small 6 inch baking dish. Top with marshmallows. Bake for 20 minutes.
That looks delicious!! We always have old baguettes and this is a great use for them…not to mention I love chocolate too. Great idea!

I love a good bread pudding! I do it with mushrooms too for a savory option.

On my way to the store. My pantry is not as well stocked as yours! No marshmallows!
