Several years ago, I joined a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). A CSA delivers fresh, organic, produce to your door at a frequency of your choosing. I always get interesting and unexpected things and this has taught me to get creative with my food. It’s also why I keep my pantry well stocked because it allows me to use all this great produce.
Because the produce is local, and just picked, they last forever. Herein lies my issue. I can’t seem to use it all. I get a shipment every 3 weeks, and because it’s just Alex and me, and both of us travel for work and have other commitments, I have a hard time getting through all these little (and big) gems.
So, here’s my goal. For this shipment, I will chronicle the journey of all my CSA fruits and veggies and share them with you. My goal: tasty food, highlight the ingredient, and zero waste. Wish me luck!
Oh! And if you have any ideas, for my CSA challenge, please share them in the comments.
How to be Neighborly: Support the cause!
What’s in my basket:
- Romaine lettuce
- Cantaloupe
- New potatoes
- Peaches
- Oranges
- Heirloom tomatoes
- Blueberries
- Green Onions
- Broccoli
- Green peppers
But… I’m confused. Are you needing people to take some of these items off your hands, or are you wanting ideas to put these items to use? Either way, I can help!
