Every once in a while I run across something that is the perfect version of itself. These are my favorite things, and I’d like to share them with you. This week’s edition: PEPPER. ALEPPO PEPPER.
The first time I heard about this, it was in a recipe for Roasted Chicken. I couldn’t find it anywhere so I improvised with regular black pepper. I finally found it when I was visiting Eataly in Chicago. I will never substitute this again. This pepper is perfect on roasted chicken, or steak. It has an almost citrusy flavor, and it’s not too hot. I just love it. So, when ever I find it, I buy it. Unfortunately, it’s out of stock on the Eataly site. I suppose there’s always Amazon, but then I don’t have an excuse to go to Eataly.
Try it for yourself and let me know what you think. Got any favorites you’d like to share?
