Alex was kind enough to get me a bottle of Woodford Reserve Bourbon for the Holidays.  I’ve always wanted to try it.  I’ve heard it is very good. Indeed it is.  I wanted to find a good way to honor it, without having to drink it straight up.  So I did a little experimenting.  I wanted to update an old fashioned with spice and citrus, and this is what I created. It’s a perfect toast to the holidays!  Cheers!

Bourbon Spiced Martini

  • 1.5 oz bourbonimg_7834
  • 3/4 oz Liqor 43
  • 1/2 meyer lemon, juiced
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • Lemon rind for garnish

In a shaker with ice, combine bourbon, Liqor 43, lemon juice and cinnamon.  Shake vigorously to combine.  Pour into a martini glass and garnish with lemon rind or cinnamon stick.
